About Gavin Davids

I was born in Worcester, South Africa—wine country. But transformation found me in the Free State.

The Journey:

For ten years (1994-2004), I worked as a building surveyor and Assistant Director in government in Gauteng Province, South Africa. I learned to assess foundations, identify structural problems, and create solutions—skills I didn’t know I’d one day use to help people rebuild their lives.

In 2004, I moved to Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa, to become a Managing Director and shareholder in a construction partnership. For the next decade, I built what I thought would be my legacy—until 2014, when the partnership fractured and everything collapsed.

Most people would have left. Started over somewhere else.

I stayed.

Since 2014, I’ve worked on consulting projects across Africa, managed financial services operations, and discovered my true calling as a life coach. Today, I’m the founder of TGD Life Coaching Pty Ltd, based right here in Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa.

The Landscape:

For over 20 years, I’ve lived in the Free State. I’ve watched veld fires burn away dead grass to make room for new growth. I’ve witnessed farmers drill boreholes when rain refuses to fall. I’ve learned that drought isn’t disaster—it’s redirection.

When my partnership collapsed in 2014, I was standing in my own drought. The landscape I’d lived in for years suddenly became my teacher. The veld fires became my metaphor for what needed to burn in me. The boreholes became my understanding of accessing what was already there.

The Calling:

Through TGD Life Coaching Pty Ltd, I help individuals and leaders discover they’re both the obstacle and the breakthrough. I teach the daily rhythm of burning what’s dead (the fire) while drilling for what’s alive (the well).

My credentials aren’t just certificates—they’re scars. My authority isn’t theory—it’s transformation I’m living right now. I rebuilt my life and business on the same soil where I broke, and that makes me useful to others who are breaking.

The Life:

I live in Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa, with my wife and three children. Every day, the landscape reminds me: when drought comes, you drill. When dead grass accumulates, you burn.
